Knit and Natter – 2:00pm – 3:30pm every Tuesday All Saints’ Church Ackworth

You are welcome to join our group any Tuesday afternoon. Bring your knitting or sewing, and enjoy the company of others whilst sharing tea, coffee and cake, and a natter.

Music Group – 7:30pm – 9:00pm every Tuesday St Cuthbert’s Church Ackworth

A group who meets to learn hymns and songs to enhance our worship at St Cuthbert’s Church. No musical experience is needed, just an enthusiasm for singing!

All Saints’ Church Ackworth is open for anyone to drop in for a chat, for tea or coffee, with biscuits or toast, and even soup and bread served at 12:00.

Down Memory Lane – 1:30pm – 3:00pm every Wednesday All Saints’ Church Ackworth

A group for people in the early or moderate stages of dementia and their carers. No experience in singing necessary, join in a much or as little as you like with a variety of songs. Share experiences and find support.

Bell Ringing 7:30pm every Wednesday St Cuthbert’s Church Ackworth

We have a team of experienced bell ringers, who are now able to ring all 6 bells at St Cuthbert’s Church since they were renovated in Spring 2024.  If you are interested in learning how to ring bells contact our Tower Captain, Ian Hall  Tel: 01977 612003.

Coffee Morning 10:00am – 12:00 noon every Thursday All Saints’ Church Ackworth

A time to get together, have a chat and enjoy tea, coffee, cakes and biscuits. Sometimes this is held at Bell Lane School on Bell lane Ackworth, where some of the children host the morning.

Thursday Club 7:30pm usually on the third Thursday of the month at All Saints’ Church Ackworth

The Thursday Club is an open meeting for everyone.  There is a talk, presentation, or some entertainment, with refreshments afterwards. See below for the topic at the next meeting

Lent Study Groups

We will be holding our Lent Study Groups at 3:30pm on the afternoon of the first three Sundays in Lent in one of the churches in the Benefice This year the theme is pilgrimage, and each Sunday the study is preceded by an optional walk across fields between our churches. Transport back to the beginning of each walk will be provided for those who need to drive to the start. So the scheme looks like this:

Sunday 22nd February – 2:00pm begin a walk (2 miles) from St Cuthbert’s Church Ackworth to All Saints’ Church Ackworth for the Study to begin at All Saints’ Church at 3:30pm

Sunday 1st March – 2:00pm begin a walk (2.8 miles) from All Saints’ Church Ackworth to St Mary’s Church Badsworth for the study to begin at St Mary’s Church at 3:30pm.

Sunday 8th March – 2:00pm begin a walk (3.5 miles) from St Mary’s Church Badsworth to St Cuthbert’s Church Ackworth for the study to begin at St Cuthbert’s Church at 3:30pm.

Ackworth Spring Fair – Saturday 7th March 1:30-3:30pm – Village Club Ackworth

There will be a variety of stalls selling a variety of things, some Spring related. Also the chance to try your luck on the Tombola, and refreshments and cake avaiable.
